Mahadevpuram Bareilly’s Largest Township on Pilibhit Road Dedicated to Lord Shiva

he Bareilly Development Authority (BDA) has made the decision to dedicate the name of its largest-ever residential township, currently being developed on Pilibhit Road, to Lord Shiva. This new township will be known as Mahadevpuram Bareilly.

A Name Chosen with Public Participation

The BDA undertook a unique initiative for naming this ambitious project. In a bid to ensure public participation in the city’s development, a competition was organized, seeking suggestions from citizens.

Over 500 people, including residents of Bareilly and other districts, submitted their suggestions for the competition.
From the applications received, seven distinct names were shortlisted, including options like Mahadevpuram, Mahadev Township, Mahadev Residential Scheme, Mahadev Nagar, and Mahadev Niwas.
Ultimately, ‘Mahadevpuram,’ named after Lord Shiva, was deemed the most suitable.

Winners to Receive Cash Prizes

According to BDA Vice-Chairman, Dr. Manikandan A., the first-place participant who suggested the most beautiful and meaningful name will be honored with a cash prize of ₹50,000 and a certificate of appreciation. Additionally, five other individuals who suggested selected names will also receive special recognition and encouragement.

The BDA has nearly completed its preparations for this event.
